Niki Chandler

Niki creates quiet contemplative wall quilts, embroideries and fine art prints often using dance net and tulle as her expressive artistic medium, a nod to her former professional practice as a theatrical costume designer.
Her pieces are inspired by personal experience; an unexpected fleeting moment that captures her attention embeds in the memory and sustains the imagination over time.
Her artworks are concerned with states of transience – the shadow as a notion of time passing and the non-visible made tangible.
Since receiving the Medal of Excellence for her City & Guilds Patchwork & Quilting Studies in 2003 her work has been juried into many prestigious exhibitions in the U.K. and Europe and can be found in the Quilters Guild of the British Isles collection. She is also an exhibiting member of the PRISM group of textile artists.

Niki is a practicing tutor teaching regular classes in drawing, printmaking and patchwork techniques. She is available for talks, workshops and commissions.
